too cool for school...

I love this photo of my grandfather, Jack Howard.  It was taken on Rundle Street in my home town of Adelaide where they would have 'papps' take your photo.  This street is still the place to be for great coffee and catching up with friends.  If only we could look as cool as he did.

R.I.P. Mork

Yesterday was a sad day indeed.  After suddenly becoming sick over the past few days, my friends beloved cat passed away.  She was such a beautiful cat full of nothing but love for her mum Cressie, and her sister Mindy.

Like a lot of cats in Dubai, Mork (and her sister) were dumped after being treated poorly.  When Cress took them in they were so scared of everything, spending most of their time hiding under bed covers.  But after a long time, and a lot of love, they started to relax when they realised they were living in a nice safe home with a lovely mum to take care of them.

I won't feel sad today, instead I will celebrate the sweet life Mork had, full of love right to the end, knowing that if Cress had not taken her in, she may never have known what a good life was.

aaahhh bless Mork, her sweet little sister Mindy, and Mum Cressie.

crazy grey coat lady adventure PART ONE...

for the first time in Dubai the crazy grey coat ladies were altogether. As host of this first of many adventures, I could not have asked for more amazing companions. The grey coats informed me that they cannot wait for the next installment...preferably with a bit of cold weather so they can come out to play xxx

a little piece of history...

a while ago, for the first time ever I spent money on some lovely 'label' sunglasses. Within days of the happy purchase I went to visit at my sister's house. While I was chatting away, her one and a half year old son Oscar decided to go searching in my bag for fun. What he found was a lovely new rayban case screaming to be opened. So he tried and tried, and managed to break the clasp with his little fingers...
Now he is almost three and living back in Australia...but everyday when I go to get my suglasses I think of him as I struggle to open the broken clasp of the case...when it does break for good it will be a sad day...I suspect I will probably by a new one and leave it with him for a couple of minutes so he can put his little stamp on it.

dance little sister, dance...

my sister always says 'I cannot dance to any music that does not have lyrics'....but when you put wham on the cd player ... crazytown comes to jadesville...

instant trouble...

This would have to be one of my favourite photos ever. Taken in the 70s, the lovely woman in the back is my mum, with her best friend (who I call Aunty Sue) at the front. This was taken at work and I think I remember mum saying that they had both just got into trouble...love their work xxx
